The Anti-Trafficking in Persons Unit (ATIPU) in the Royal St. Vincent and the Grenadines Police (RSVGPF) under the auspices of the National Taskforce against Trafficking in Persons (NTFaTIP) will be having a series of activities in observance of the United Nations World Day against Trafficking in Persons. The ‘day’ is observed on July 30 every year.
The UN World Day against trafficking in persons was declared by the United Nations General Assembly in 2013 primarily to “raise awareness of the situation of victims of human trafficking and for the promotion and protection of their rights”.
The activities listed to observe the ‘day’ are as follows:
- Panel Discussion on Magic FM on Sunday July 29. 2018. The topic of the discussion will be “what part can St. Vincent and the Grenadines play in the fight against Human Trafficking?”
- An appearance on Face to Face interactive radio program on NBC Radio on Monday July 30, 2018
- An awareness raising and human trafficking prevention exhibition under the Singer Gallery in Kingstown on Monday July 30, 2018 from 10:00 am
- Movie Night at Central Police Station on Tuesday July 31, 2018 commencing from 7:00 PM.
