The Women’s Police Association of the Royal St. Vincent and the Grenadines Police Force after four years absence held its general elections to elect a new executive to run the affairs of the association for the next year. These elections took place at the Old Montrose Police Station on Wednesday May 6th 2018.
President of the Police Welfare Association, Sergeant Brenton Smith who spoke at the meeting stressed the importance of such an association and encouraged the new executive to support each other. He also stressed the need for trust and commitment of the women’s association in order for it to function and survive.
The newly elected president Petty officer Celia Charles thanked members for electing and placing their trust in her. She stated that it has always been her view that the Women’s Police Association should be active and she is looking forward to working with all stakeholders for the betterment of all women police officers and the police force as a whole.
