Police are investigating the circumstances surrounding a fire that destroyed a 16 ft x 18 ft two-bedroom board house and its contents at Dauphine on 20.03.22. 

Preliminary investigations revealed that on 20.03.22, Andre Woods, 42 years old Labourer of Dauphine was reportedly cooking on his gas stove. He later exited the house and went to do some work in the yard. Woods claimed that on his return to the house, he saw smoke and fire in the kitchen area. He then attempted to put out the fire by using a water hose but was unsuccessful.

Officers from the Fire Department responded to the scene and extinguished the fire.

The house and its contents valued at eighty-eight thousand and one hundred dollars ($88,100.00) were destroyed.

 Investigation into the matter continues.
