Mr. Christopher Benjamin - Assistant Commissioner Police in Charge of Operations

Christopher Benjamin is an Assistant Commissioner of Police in the Royal St. Vincent and the Grenadines Police Force.  He was enlisted in the Police Force on July 10, 1987 and is presently the Assistant Commissioner of Police in charge of Operations, with responsibility for all Police Stations throughout the state.

Previous responsibilities include Head of the Special Branch Department and Chief Close Protection Officer to the Hon. Prime Minister, Dr. Ralph Gonsalves.

During the early part of his policing career, he worked at Out District Division, Fire Brigade Section, Special Services Unit and Special Branch Department.

Assistant Commissioner Benjamin has attended several training courses throughout his policing career locally, regionally and internationally, the most notable being VIP Protection Management in the USA, National Development Course in Taiwan, FBI National Academy in the USA and the 9th CARIC in Belize.

He also served as an Instructor for the RSS Training Team for the RSS Basic Course 1/97 in Barbados and participated in Exercise Tradewinds in Dominica, Puerto Rico and Guyana in the year 1999. 

Assistant Commissioner Benjamin holds a Diploma from the Political Warfare Bureau of the Ministry of National Defence in the Republic of Taiwan and a Diploma in Air Conditioning and Refrigeration from Thompson Education Direct.  He was also awarded a Certificate of Achievement from the International Police Monitors, Operation Uphold Democracy from the Republic of Haiti.
