Mr. Colin O. John - Commissioner of Police

Mr. Colin O. John is the Commissioner of Police of the Royal St. Vincent and the Grenadines Police Force.  He was enlisted in the Royal St. Vincent and the Grenadines Police Force in 1988, then was transferred to the Office of the Director of Public Prosecutions in 2011 and appointed as the Assistant Director of Public Prosecution.  He served in that position until 2016, when he rejoined the Police Force at the position of Deputy Commissioner of Police (Ag.) and later appointed to Commissioner of Police on January 02, 2018.

During his policing career, he attended several Training Courses and worked in several Sections including Beat and Patrol, the Immigration Department, Police Canteen, Police Training School, the Criminal Investigations Department, several Out-Stations and the Narcotics Section.

He also pursued studies and was awarded his LLB (Hons.) Degree in Law from the University of Wales on February 27, 2009.  Prior to receiving this award, he was awarded the Holborn College Prize in 2008.  In the year 2010, Commissioner John was called before the Bar in St. Vincent and the Grenadines in October, and again in London on July 22, 2016.

Commissioner of Police John also represented the Government of St. Vincent and the Grenadines at the 12th Conference of Defense Ministers of the Americas (Preparatory meeting) in Trinidad in April 2016 and the 12th Conference of Defense Ministers of the Americas in Trinidad in October 2016.
