On 21.11.21, the police arrested and charged Kennyatta Diamond, 46 years old Tradesman of Rillan Hill with the Offences of Wounding and Damage to Property.
According to investigations, the Accused (1) allegedly unlawfully and maliciously wounded a 34 years old Gardener of Rillan Hill by cutting her on her left and right hand with a cutlass and (2) did without lawful excuse damaged one brown leather sandal value $100.00ECC, the property of the virtual complainant by chopping same with a cutlass. The incidents occurred at Rillan Hill on 20.11.21.
The Accused appeared before the Kingstown Magistrate Court on 22.11.2021 to answer the charges and plead guilty. He was given an 18 months suspended sentence for wounding the V/C and placed on a bond for one (1) year. In default, he will pay a fine of $1500.00 or spend 12 months in prison and (2) the accused was further given an 18 months suspended sentence for the offence of Damage to Property and placed on a one (1) year bond. In default, the accused will pay a fine of $500.00 or spend 12 months at Her Majesty’s Prison.
